Totally Tip-In – Bible Art Journaling John 12

It’s totally tip-in time, folks! This is so easy, and it has several benefits. The chief benefit is that you can journal in a more private way on the back of the tip-in or on the bible page under the tip-in. Also, if you are concerned about covering the words on a specific bible page and not being able to read them later, the tip-in can be flipped up to view the full bible page.

So, what is a tip-in anyway?

A tip-in is simply something extra that you attach into a book. You use some sort of adhesive (glue, tape, etc.) to place an extra page into the existing page in a bound book. When I use the term in bible art journaling, I am referring to items taped or glued into the spine, to the top, to the bottom, or to the outside of the page. You just use the tip of the paper to attach it into the bound book so that it can fold out, up, down, or over to view behind it.

This Tip-In Looks Like This:

Forsaking a Life of God's Principles Leads Down a Dark Path - John 12 Bible Art Journaling

Here is the super simple, totally tip-in process for John 12:

  1. Print out the free printable for John 12.

Forsaking a daily life of God's principles leads down a dark path.

2. Cut out the side for John 12.

3. Color the image using your favorite medium. I like watercolors, but you could use crayons, markers, colored pencils, gelatos, acrylic paint, inks, etc. – whatever your favorite is! I used Windsor and Newton Cotman Watercolor Field Set like this one and a silver Prismacolor colored pencil from a set like this one.

4. Use washi tape (like this) to attach the tip-in to the page.

5. Reinforce the back of the washi tape hinge with washi tape.

6. Voila! All done! See how easy that was!
