Praise the Lord!
For it is good to sing praises to our God;
for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting. Psalm 147:1
Sing Praise – Psalm 147:1
Happy Easter! Easter is finally here and it is time to praise the Lord! Look what He has done! Victory of death, hell and the grave! We are restored to relationship with God the Father and welcomed into eternal life with Him through the sacrifice of Jesus and His dominion over sin.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead 1 Peter 1:3
A Living Hope
Jesus is our hope in this life and the next. His joy was to deliver us. His steadfast love extend through the suffering and disgrace of the cross.
…but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him,
in those who hope in his steadfast love. Psalm 147:11
A Time to Praise
Easter is a time to praise the Lord. We gather in churches all around the world and sing songs of praise to Him.
Praise the Lord!
For it is good to sing praises to our God;
for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting. Psalm 147:1
Praise the Lord for He is good!
He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds.
He determines the number of the stars;
he gives to all of them their names.
Great is our Lord, and abundant in power;
his understanding is beyond measure. Psalm 147:3-5
God’s power is unmatched and His wisdom is beyond our ability to understand it. He knows the names of all the stars, because He named them as He counted them. This incredibly gigantic God bends to earth to bind our wounds, tend to our pain, and heal our broken hearts. What amazing love!
Sing with thanksgiving
Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving;
make melody to our God on the lyre!
He covers the heavens with clouds;
he prepares rain for the earth;
he makes grass grow on the hills.
He gives to the beasts their food,
and to the young ravens that cry. Psalm 147:7-9
God is a God of provision! He provides for all our needs. He reigns over nature and His created world. Yet, He provides for us too!
